Sweden’s largest investor conference ever hosted by a Swedish government
The Join Sweden Summit set new attendance records at the Strawberry Arena, followed by a dinner at Stockholm City Hall. Over 300 international guests from 250 companies across 28 countries explored investment opportunities, networked, and shared insights.
“Both during the event and after, I’ve received fantastic responses from the participants. They all seem to be impressed not only by the presence of ministers and opportunities in Sweden, but also by the very professional arrangements by us and the Foreign Ministry. So, I am very proud of what the team accomplished,” said Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden.
“Sweden’s strong performance on three fronts – innovation, sustainability, and digitalisation are important door opener for many of tomorrow’s international investments and expansions in Sweden,” Larsson continued.
Royal and government support
The Summit opened with a warm welcome from H.R.H. Prince Daniel and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, alongside ministers Ebba Busch, Johan Pehrson, Johan Forssell, and Niklas Wykman. Keynote speakers included Jacob Wallenberg (Confederation of Swedish Enterprise), Pam Cheng (AstraZeneca), Mary Snapp (Microsoft), and Sikander Rashid (Brookfield Asset Management).
Sweden’s green and digital leadership
Sweden’s nearly 100% fossil-free electricity supply, EU-leading share of renewables, and high-tech talent were showcased. Prime Minister Kristersson highlighted Sweden’s dual impact on global climate action and domestic growth:
“When Swedish products go on export, this benefits both global climate action – and our own society.”
Minister Ebba Busch reinforced Sweden’s investment appeal:
“We offer not only green energy and world-class expertise but also an investment climate built on trust and close cooperation between the state, business sector and academia.”
Opportunities in key growth industries
Breakout sessions focused on energy, transport and battery, life science, and advanced manufacturing. Panels and roundtable discussions connected global and Swedish companies, investors, government representatives, academia, and industry experts.
Mary Snapp, Vice President, Strategic AI Initiatives at Microsoft, praised Sweden’s collaborative environment:
“The advanced skills and willingness to collaborate that we encounter here in Sweden are crucial as we build the infrastructure for the new AI economy. This will create opportunities for startups and larger companies throughout the region.”
