Stockeld Dreamery is a manufacturer of legume-based dairy-free cheese – an ambitious product that came about after extensive research to find an alternative protein to replace dairy without sacrificing any of the taste and velvety textures. Stockeld realised that the US market, where 6 out of 10 households now purchase plant-based foods, presents vast opportunities for growth and decided that attending a trade show would be an essential part of their market launch.
In 2023, Stockeld joined the Try Swedish pavilion at Natural Products Expo West – a leading natural and organic products trade show held annually in Anaheim, California, with more than 65,000 registered attendees and 3,000 exhibiting companies. Attending with a team of five who brought music, visuals, and passion to the show, Stockeld attracted large crowds of both retail chains like Central Market and end consumers, especially with the Try Swedish pavilion located in the Hot Products Pavilion with substantial foot traffic.
Aside from providing Stockeld with subsidised participation at the show where costs have traditionally been high and access has not been the easiest, Business Sweden also took charge of organising the pavilion, facilitating networking opportunities, overseeing all necessary administrative and logistical arrangements, and keeping the Stockeld team informed of all relevant opportunities in the run-up to the show.
At the show, Business Sweden continued to provide support to make sure that Stockeld could focus on showcasing their products and making valuable connections with key stakeholders.
With the traction and interest from Expo West in mind, Stockeld Dreamery has entered New York City – the bagel capital of the world – accessing the food service channel. Stockeld’s dreamy cream cheese can be found in more and more select bagel shops across NYC.
