Construction of Can Gio transshipment port in Vietnam
WHAT
The Can Gio transshipment port will accommodate substantial container vessels with capacities of up to 24,000 TEUs. It will also handle transshipment vessels with dead weight tonnage spanning 10,000 to 65,000 tons alongside 8,000-ton barges.
HOW
The project necessitates a total investment of VND129 trillion (approximately US$5.5 billion).
Spanning an area of 571 hectares on Phu Loi Island, Thanh An Commune, Can Gio District, the inaugural phase is slated for completion by 2027, while the entire project envisions realization by 2045.
