State Grid 2024 UHV construction project
what
- Importance: The construction of clean energy base will promote the construction of ultra-high voltage power projects. In 2021, the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the 2035 Vision Outline proposed that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China will build nine large-scale clean energy bases, including hydropower bases in the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, the upper and lower reaches of the Jinsha River, the Yalong River Basin, and the Yellow River Upstream. Meanwhile, offshore wind power bases in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Shandong will be built. From this point of view, China's clean energy bases are mainly concentrated in the "Three North Regions", while power consumption is mainly concentrated in the eastern and southern coastal areas. Transmission channels need to be built to solve the inconsistency problem between power sources and consumption.
- Business opportunity: During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China plans to construct a total of 38 UHV lines with a mileage of more than 30,000 kilometers and a total investment of 380 billion RMB.
- UHV DC converter station equipment mainly includes: converter equipment, GIS combined power and DC switchyard equipment. The core equipment is converter valve, converter transformer, DC protection system and GIS combined electrical appliances.
- Midstream is mainly related to engineering construction, mainly including engineering construction, engineering design, etc. Among them, engineering construction and engineering design are mainly undertaken by China Energy Engineering Corporation and Power Construction Corporation of China.
- Concrete project plan: State Grid will increase investment in power grids and accelerate the construction of UHV and ultra-high voltage backbone grids. It is expected that the total investment in power grid construction will exceed 500 billion RMB in 2024.
