- As a small and densely populated city, Hong Kong faces a significant challenge in urban mobility where its transport systems are under increasing strain. With robust backing by the Hong Kong Government, the city is set to transform its transportation system and promote overall sustainability by adopting innovative technologies.

How
- The Government has been tirelessly implementing various smart mobility initiatives since the release of the Smart Mobility Roadmap for Hong Kong in 2019. In addition, the Government announced Hong Kong Roadmap on Popularisation of Electric Vehicles, Clean Air Plan for Hong Kong 2035, and Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 in 2021, covering policy directions and future targets in different areas promoting the adoption of new energy transport technologies, so as to guide Hong Kong towards zero vehicular emissions before 2050 and attain carbon neutrality within the same timeframe.
- In addition, Hong Kong has recognized hydrogen as an important new source of energy for the future. The Government will formulate the Strategy of Hydrogen Development in the first half of 2024 and commence the preparatory work for relevant legislative amendments. Private players are actively working on the development and testing of hydrogen fuel technology.
- Opportunities for Swedish actors who offer innovative urban transport solutions in the areas of, for instance, traffic management, improvement of road safety, alleviation of road congestion, optimization of transport efficiency, reduction of energy use and environmental impacts etc.
